iTracker Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This policy explains what information the iTracker mobile app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. iTracker is provided by Tilt Inc. ("TILT", "we", "us", or "our"). Truck drivers use it to share the progress of the loads they haul with the carriers, brokers and shippers they work with.

This policy covers the iTracker app for iOS and Android. Our website is covered by the Tilt Privacy Policy.

App: iTracker  ·  Developer: Tilt Inc.  ·  Contact: legal@tilt.ai

2. Information We Collect

Account information. Your mobile phone number, which you sign in with using a code we send by text message, and your first and last name. We also keep your app settings, such as language and units.

Precise location. iTracker collects your device's precise (GPS) location while you are tracking a load. This includes when the app is closed or your phone is locked, and after your phone restarts, until tracking ends. Tracking ends when the load is delivered, when you stop tracking, or when the company that assigned the load ends it. Each location update includes:

  • coordinates, accuracy, altitude, speed and heading
  • distance travelled and whether you are moving
  • your phone's battery level and whether it is charging
  • the time of the update

iTracker also records your location when you act on a load: for example, when you start, pause or resume tracking, arrive at or complete a stop, report an issue, or send documents. iTracker does not collect your location when you are not tracking or acting on a load.

Motion and activity. With your permission, iTracker uses your phone's motion sensors to tell whether you are still, walking or driving. This lets it save battery when the truck is parked, and hide chat messages while you are driving, so you aren't reading or typing at the wheel. The activity is recorded with your location updates.

Photos and documents. Photos you take with the camera or choose from your photo library, such as bills of lading, proof of delivery, receipts, truck inspection photos and your vehicle's VIN. We keep the time each photo was taken, and any type or notes you add. iTracker sees only the photos you choose; it does not access the rest of your photo library.

Messages and reports. Chat messages and photos you send to dispatch, issues you report, and the answers you give in truck checks.

Identity and driver's license verification. Some carriers and loads require a verified Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Verification is done by our provider Sumsub. You photograph your license and complete a short face scan, a liveness check that may use your camera and microphone. Sumsub compares your face with the photo on your license. Some loads also ask you to repeat the face scan before you accept or start them, to confirm that you are the verified driver. We receive the result of each check, the name, state and expiry date on your license, and images of the front and back of your license. We do not receive or keep your face scan.

Device and app information. Your phone's brand, model and operating system, the app's version, which permissions you have granted, and a push notification token.

Diagnostics. Crash reports and error logs, linked to your driver ID and the load you are tracking, so we can find and fix problems. If you send a diagnostics report to support from the app, it includes the app's recent log.

iTracker does not access your contacts, does not use an advertising identifier, and shows no ads.

3. How We Use Information

  • To run the service: showing the companies you haul for where their load is, its estimated arrival time and whether it is running late, and delivering your documents, photos and messages to them.
  • To verify drivers: confirming your identity and license when a carrier or load requires it.
  • To sign you in and keep your account secure, including detecting abuse.
  • To notify you about loads, messages and requests from dispatch.
  • To support you and to diagnose and fix problems with the app.
  • To improve iTracker, for example its battery use and tracking accuracy.
  • To meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our users and others.

We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles.

4. How We Share Information

The companies you haul for. The carrier you drive for, and the broker or shipper that assigned you a load through iTracker, see the information for that load. That includes your name, phone number, location and its history during the load, speed, estimated arrival, documents, photos, messages, reported issues and your license verification status. They may share a load's tracking status with their own customers, such as the shipper or receiver.

Service providers that process information for us, only to provide their services:

  • Google Firebase: sign-in, data storage and crash reporting
  • Sumsub: identity and license verification
  • Sentry: error monitoring
  • Telnyx: text messages with sign-in codes
  • Expo: push notifications and app updates
  • our cloud hosting providers

Map apps. When you tap Navigate, iTracker opens the map app you chose, such as Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, with the stop's address. That app's own privacy policy then applies.

Legal and business reasons. When the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Permissions and Choices

iTracker asks for each permission before using it, and you can change any of them in your phone's settings.

  • Location: tracking a load needs location access set to "Always" (iOS) or "Allow all the time" (Android), so that the load is followed while the app is closed. Without it, iTracker cannot track your loads.
  • Motion & Fitness / Physical activity: optional; without it, tracking uses more battery.
  • Camera: for photos of documents, inspections and your license.
  • Notifications: optional; without them you won't be alerted to new loads or messages.

You can stop tracking from the app at any time. The company that assigned the load will see that tracking stopped. Uninstalling the app stops all collection.

6. How Long We Keep Information

We keep your account information while your account is active. Location history, documents, photos and messages are part of the record of each load. We keep them for as long as the companies involved need them for that load and its records, and as long as the law requires. Crash reports and logs are kept for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except what we must keep for the reasons listed on our Data Deletion page.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time: in the app, under Settings → Profile → Delete account, or by following the steps on our Data Deletion page.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit how we use it. To make a request, email legal@tilt.ai from, or mentioning, the phone number you use with iTracker. We will verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

California residents. Precise location, your driver's license and the face scan are sensitive personal information. We use them only to provide iTracker as described in this policy. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.

Biometric information. The face scan during verification is processed by Sumsub, only to confirm that you are the person on your license, and only with your consent, which you give in the verification flow. It is not used for any other purpose, and it is deleted once verification no longer requires it, and in any case no later than three years after your last interaction with iTracker.

9. Security

Information is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. Access is limited to the people and companies who need it to provide the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our safeguards regularly.

10. Children

iTracker is meant for professional drivers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Where Information Is Processed

We are based in the United States and process information there. Some of our service providers process it in other countries. Where they do, we rely on safeguards such as contractual protections.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as iTracker changes. We will change the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app before a material change takes effect.
